Turning an orchestra into a car was a lot of fun! We used different ensemble sizes to sonically match the rapid visual perspective changes. Harsh bowing for the engine start up. Knuckles on the wood body for the sound of the inside of the car. Various flatter tongue techniques for the wind instruments. The whole orchestra shaking their sheet music to simulate the wind from an outside perspective. We achieved the crash sound by having all the members of the orchestra throw everything off their music stand onto the ground.
